Tragedy has befallen Anambra state again. Ndieke umuatuegwu community in Okija area of the state is currently in a state of mourning as one of their own,  a family of five allegedly dies of food poison. According to the source, the incident started on Wednesday, 9th of August. The woman served her husband, who was a motorcyclist (Okada rider) on his return from work and then, the husband who was eating with his three children started vomiting blood. Minutes after, the three children also started vomiting blood. They were  all rushed to the hospital but sadly, they all died one after the other. The woman who didn't eat the food with the other members of her family, slumped and and also died out of shock. Investigation is said to be ungoing to ascertain the actual cause of death.

No fewer than 11 people have been confirmed dead and several others Injured as a gunman stormed St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Amakwa-Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State yesterday, opening fire on worshippers. TheSource Nigeria gathered that the gunman made his way into the church during the early morning mass. Many were injured during the incident, which Governor Willie Obiano described as “sacrilegious”. An eyewitness, who narrated how the attack occurred, said the priest, Rev. Fr. Jude Onwuaso, was unhurt. The witness, who said he was part of those who evacuated the victims, said the gunman went into the church, identified Chief Akunwafor Ikegwuonwu, a parishioner, and shot him dead.
