Dr Allwell Orji's body finally recovered from Lagos lagoon

After 72 hours of what seemed like an endless search, the body of Dr. Allwell Orji,
who jumped into the Lagos lagoon has finally been recovered.

Orji's body which was recovered by the Marine Police Wednesday evening around 4p.m. has been identified by some of his
family members, including his driver.

Commissioner of Police, Lagos State command, Mr. Fatai Owoseni said “the body would be handed over to the family while investigation continues.”

The commissioner who had on Tuesday made a false statement, stating that Dr. Orji’s body was found at the Onikan end of the lagoon following the recovery of an unknown body, however retracted his statement after the deceased’s family said
the body was not their son.

Earlier before the body was found, the Lagos State Police Command said it had retrieved the mobile phone of Dr. Orji, adding that the police was working with
the service providers and using technical
platform to investigate whom he called and
what he discussed before taking his life.
